| QUESTION: |
| If
I have a water softener installed already, how do I install the Hydro-Max |
ANSWER: |
| The
option is yours: Water softeners do not necessarily prevent all scale
deposits from forming. Because existing scale deposits in your plumbing
will be dissolved into the water, the use of your softener may help
diminish the effects of this temporary increase in scale deposits
and flakes. It is recommended that if you do have a softener already
in place you should allow the Hydro-Max system to work in conjunction
with it for at least 1 month's time before bypassing the softener. |
| QUESTION: |
On
what type of pipes will the Hydro-Max E.W.C. work?
|
| ANSWER: |
Copper,
PVC, Stainless steel, Steel** or Iron **
** Please consult us on this application. |
| QUESTION: |
| What
size pipe does the Hydro-Max E.W.C. work on? |
| ANSWER: |
1.
The HM-100X residential unit is designed for 1" diameter pipes
and under.
2. The ES-150 equipment specific unit for commercial use is designed
for 1.5" diameter and under.
3. The COM-2000 agricultural and industrial unit is designed for 2"
diameter pipes and under.
4. There are also systems available for industrial applications with
up to 24" diameter pipes. |
QUESTION: |
| How
long will it take before I notice if my Hydro-Max E.W.C. is working? |
| ANSWER: |
| Typically,
it takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on the amount of water used before
the homeowner begins to experience the effects of the Hydro-Max Electronic
Water Conditioner. However, the unit begins to work immediately after
being installed. |
| QUESTION: |
| If
I don't have a water softener what change will I notice? |
| ANSWER: |
1.
You will notice a dramatic difference in the "feel" of
the water. The water will feel silky and hair will rinse squeaky
clean after shampooing.
2. Scale around
taps, sinks, showerheads, etc. will begin to soften as long as the
treated water comes into regular contact with the area; in order
to help dissolve and clean the existing scale it is recommended
that you use the Hydro-Max liquid DesCaLiR
3. Water spotting
on fixtures and surfaces (including dishes from dishwasher) will
begin to abate.
4. Less soap
scum in bathtub.
5. As your hot
water heater descales, the heater will become more efficient. Water
heats more quickly, saving energy costs.
**Important
to note: The Hydro-Max Electronic Water Conditioner does not remove
the minerals from your water. Therefore, a soft white film will
appear on surfaces that are not exposed to free flowing water. As
opposed to a hard scale buildup this film can be easily wiped away
without any scrubbing or chemicals. |
| QUESTION: |
| My
Hydro-Max Electronic Water Conditioner has been running for 2 weeks and
it seems like my water has gotten harder and there are more scale
deposits forming in my sinks, bathtubs and on my fixtures. Is it actually
working? |
| ANSWER: |
| Yes,
this is a result of years of scale buildup within your system. The
deposits within the system are breaking down and coming out of your
pipes. Depending on how much water you use can affect how fast it
takes before your system completely cleans itself out. It is recommended
that you flush your water heater out a number of times until your
plumbing is completely descaled. LiquiPlus can also provide you with
our Hydro-Max DesCaLiR to help deal with existing scale deposits. |
| QUESTION: |
| Why
should I use the Hydro-Max Electronic Water Conditioner as opposed to
a water softener? |
| ANSWER: |
1.
Softeners are expensive to purchase and require a constant charge
of salt to keep them operating. The salt bags are heavy, inconvenient
and when it comes to refilling are often forgotten about.
2. Because of
the sodium content of softened water, physicians may advise some
individuals, not to install water softeners, to soften only hot
water or to bypass the water softener with a cold water line to
provide unsoftened water for drinking and cooking; usually to a
separate faucet at the kitchen sink.
3. When a softener
is used the sodium (salt) replaces the calcium and magnesium, which
are discharged in the wastewater. If the home has a septic system
the wastewater, also called brine, adversely affects the natural
bacteria necessary for digestion of waste and can contribute to
the corrosion of the tank walls and dramatically decrease the life
expectancy of the septic tank. Frequent septic tank "pump-outs"
or chemical additives are required.
4. Showering
with softened water tends to leave a film or residue that is difficult
to rinse off and you are likely to use more water to rinse with.
5. Softened
water is not recommended for watering plants, lawns, and gardens
due to its sodium content. |
